Teaching kids to respect people who are different from them

It seems only natural to assume that the world revolves around you, and looks–and sounds–exactly how you expect it to. Ill-mannered children demonstrate that their worlds are permanently small, as small as their previous exposure. As a result, they alienate anything foreign. On the other hand, considerate children are willing to have their worlds enlarged: Life is bigger than themselves. As a result, they reach out to the alienated, and they pursue larger worlds. In the video, this openness is expressed by interest and willingness to learn a new language.
